1. Homework and Poll question due Sept. 14th:
Poll at least 5 people, be it family or friends (no duplicates), and ask them what three words they think of when they hear "America." Write it down.
Tuesday
2. Due Sept. 15th My Federal, Local and State Government handout
Complete the handout based upon the names of your federal, local and state government officials.
Wednesday - Friday
3. Due Sept 19th: Essay: My stance on Democracy: What it means to me
Write a 3 page essay addressing the arguments that were used within the class in regards to American Democracy. You need to incorporate the principles of American constitution within your essay. Discuss whether you agree or disagree with them as well.
4. Begin reading chapter 1 of your textbook. Remember to take Cornell notes based upon the chapter. Refer to the note taking guide to assist you with your notes.

1. Read the contract, complete the interest survey and you as well as your parents sign the contracts and return them tomorrow!
2. Brainstorm your goal(s )for the semester. Place them in your class book.
Friday
You will be using past College Board Document Based Questions and short essays as best practice for preparing for the AP US Government exam. You are required to Go to the Classroom Resources and select the tab AP US Government Free Response. You are to familiarize yourself with these type of questions.
